Sand should use for under small above ground pool?
I just bought a small above ground pool for my kids, not an inflatable one, but of the vinyl ones. Now I did see the post for this, but none mentioned what type of sand I needed to get. The lady told me to get Pool Filtration Sand??? Or should I just get all purpose sand or play sand? Whats the difference and which one do you think I should get.

There is a playground quality sand which is used for kids’ sandboxes, etc. It is my sense that it is ‘cleaner’ sand for kids to be around.
If the pool doesnt drain into the sand there really isn’t a need to get filtration sand which would go into a special sand filter.
Whichever you can get the cheapest. I used construction grade and have not had any problems. Next year will be the 3rd year for the pool and the sand.
It doesn’t matter all you are doing is leveling the pool, I’ve had two different above ground pools in the same spot for 25 years if I need to level it I just bring in the cheapest from a gravel quarry I can get. I won’t stay clean very long. Now for the pool filter I had on the larger pool It was a special sand, but not under the pool. Have a smaller one now for the grand kids and we use a paper filter. I hope I understood what you were asking.
id get the filtration sand because if the sand is too fine or course it will put pinholes in the liner
Hi Sound, I would go to a builders supplier and get some wash sand. You could also use pond underlay. This is like a thick blanket that goes under the liner to stop stones puncturing it. Good luck mate, my kids destroyed theirs in less then a week!
your main problem with sand is how well it as been washed for use in garden sand comes out of sea and has salt in it and salt is weed/plant killer horticultural sand is fully free of salt rest you need to read label
