Product Description

Newly Redesigned 2010 Model, with 2nd Stage Copper Ionization Producing a Natural "Algaecide" to control algae growth. This Chlorinator/Chlorine Generator/Saltwater system was redesigned for 2010 season, with a unique 2-stage process - (1) saltwater conversion process to convert salt into liquid chlorine, and (2) ionized copper was dissolved into the pool water, which attacked common algaes by distroying their reproduction process, therefore, reducing algae growth. Specially designed for the Intex pool set 15' or larger with a properly matched/sized intex filter pump. It might also be compatible with other above ground pool system, however, we do not guaranteed the compatibility of the products. No more red, burning eyes, faded clothes, and pool liners! Simply hook the Intex saltwater generator into the pool's water flow as directed, add the specified amount of salt, and the Chlorine Generator will do the rest. The pool's water is converted to an effective algaecide - and since salt doesn't evaporate or dissipate as chlorine does, the constant addition of chemicals is a thing of the past. Keep your pool incredibly clean, crystal clear and fresh at all times.

Set-up was one of the easiest things I have ever did.

It’s been in use since the day we received it.

No more algae, It even cleaned up the remnants of last years slime!!

I wish I would have known about this when I bought the pool last year!!!

Salt cost me $15.00 for 120 lbs. which was 10 lbs. more than suggested.

      No problems yet.

Now I wish I could find the small air leak in the top ring of the pool.

Love this system. Saves lots of money otherwise spent on poisonous chemicals. Things I learned the hard way. 1)For low flow: check the little plastic circle net inside the intake tube. Clean every other day or so for best results. 2) For low salt when you know there is plenty: calcium build up on the titanium plates, blueish white. Rinse with high pressure hose (use your thumb)once a week. I didnt figure that out until a few months had passed and had to soak in vinegar to get clean. But once I figured out the minimal routine maintenance needed the unit has been running great. NOTE do not hose bugs off the bottom of the whole system as the water gets into the cooling fan and soaks the circut board and lights. Very very bad.

The chlorine generator by Intex is a GREAT addition to our summer. Plug it in, push the buttons and go! How wonderful not to have burning eyes, green hair and itchy skin from chlorine. And the expense. I am so glad that we purchased this product. Very easy to set up and keep on using!

If you follow all of the directions and use this filter correctly it is amazing. It will give you freedom from chemicals for the life of the unit. This is our 3rd season using the intex saltwater generator and it has been amazing. Our water is crystal clear all season long and our neighbors pools are green with envy.

For the price it cannot be beat. The only con I can think of is the slightly salty taste to the water.

We ordered a deluxe saltwater generator for our backyard above-ground Intex pool. It is working perfectly, crystal-clear water after 6 hours of running time per day. It is so simple, I would suggest that you buy the stronger pump package. I didn’t so I ended upgrading it a week later because the saltwater generator needed 700 gal per hour of power to operate. Just add salt to pool and program generator and wala….clean, clear water! Highly recommended!

Recently my daughter started swimming and loves it. I decided to buy a pool big enough for her to swim laps but, having had pools before, I didn’t want the hassle and liability of chemicals laying around. I had heard about salt water pools for in-ground pools and was very interested but this was an above ground pool. I knew that Intex had a good reputation for above ground pools so when I heard about their Saltwater System I researched it. Before you know it I was ordering this model – the pool is about 14,000 gallons of water. Well, a month later the water is still clean as it can be without any chemicals. I did have to put $90.00 worth of salt in the water (365 lbs) when the pool was filling up but the salt doesn’t go anywhere so no re-salting is necessary and the water to salt ratio is less percentage than human tears. The water sparkles, is soft and doesn’t smell of chlorine. It was a great decision to try this method and would do it again in a heartbeat.

We purchased the Intex Automatic Swimming Pool Chlorinator for a new above-ground pool this summer. After a bad experience a few years back with a too-small filter system for our last pool and the outrageous cost for chemicals needed to control algea, we hoped that the salt water system would be a better solution.

We couldn’t be happier with the results. The chlorinator runs automatically for 4 hours a day and keeps the pool chlorine levels perfectly balanced. We haven’t had to add any chemicals to the water at all and the kids say that the water doesn’t hurt their eyes like the chemically chlorinated water did.

I would definitely recommend this system for anyone buying an above ground pool, or for anyone who is struggling to keep their above-ground pool clean and algea-free.

I have a 15′x 4′ Intex Metal Frame pool with the 1000gph filter. We bought the Saltwater Chlorinator because I didn’t want to deal with all the chemicals with a regular pool. It was overwhelming to see all the things you had to buy and I didn’t want to have to overthink my pool.

We have been using this for over a month and it is wonderful. I used the chart to put in the proper amount of salt, added the salt to fresh water and let it dissolve completely overnight. We got in the next day and played in the water for a bit to make sure it was well dissolved and mixed around and it was. We used Mortons Pool Salt which we found at our local home improvement store. I put in about 100lbs of salt. Ran it for the first time with no issues. Set up was easy once we read the instructions.

I have had no problems with error lights or anything. One time I had the low flow light, but I checked my filter and it was really dirty, cleaned it and it was off and running again. I look forward to my 93 reading every morning. I have my pump on a timer and the chlorinator comes on in the middle of the 6 hour pump cycle I run.

The only chemicals I have had to add was cyuranic acid when I first started since we live where it is HOT and SUNNY. My chlorine was disappearing within a few hours when it was 110 degrees outside. Now it stays in a safe level until the next day. I usually run it for 3 hours a day. Haven’t noticed a difference in my electric bill of any consequence. I also have to add acid when my pH is off. I check the chlorine and pH every morning when I go out to skim the pool. I have yet to shock the pool, crystal clear water, so haven’t seen the need.

My kids love the salt water. The little one swims with her eyes open and they don’t get red or irritated like they do at regular pools. I can taste the salt a bit in the water, but I don’t mind. I am an ocean girl at heart and it isn’t near the saltiness of the ocean.

I am very happy with my purchase. I hope to get at least 2 seasons out of this, we will see how it goes as time goes by and I will update if things change from how they are now.

works great, pool stays clean and clear, no chlorine smell, no messy chemicals to add, just set and forget. My son had a sensitivity to chlorine, and had to shower immeadiately after exiting the pool, but not anymore, definitely worth the price.

    • it really does make a difference – my daughter’s exczema flared up something terrible in chlorine pools – but salt water almost helps it…
