How to Hook up a Swimming Pool Filtration System

I couldn’t find any type of diagram that I could send you or link but basically this is how it works. the front of the pump should connect to the pipes that come from the drain at the bottom and the skimmers from the sides of the pool. the pipe from the top of the pump goes into the filter side that says pump. and the side on the filter that says return should go into the heater inlet then plumb the outlet to the pipes that go to the pool returns jets. a good way to test your pipes is to get a drain king(rubber balloon that connects to a water hose, can find at any hardware store) and mark them return, suction, etc. if you have any doubts just call a local pool company that does service work and they can do it for you or come out and show you how, for a little money of course. I’ve been doing pool work for 6 years if you have any other questions give me a buzz. I’m located in Louisiana, Lafayette area, if your close.

Backwash Pool Filter

Turn your pool pump off. Turn the handle on the top your pool filter to backwash and turn the pump back on. There should be a sight glass on the line and you will see the dirt going out of the drain. When the glass is clear, turn off your pump and turn the handle back to filter. Turn your pump back and and look at your pressure gauge and you should see the pressure drop a good bit after it is backwashed.
